This first issue of the eighth volume of Coatings and Anti Corrosion Engineering Review is a milestone for our journal. Our journal is now seven years old! We owe our gratitude to many people who supported us along the way – certainly to the many contributors who have submitted their fine work, and not the least our valuable advertisers and subscribers who sustain us and nurture our project.
When we began producing C&ACER we were fueled mainly by inspiration and dreams. A seventh anniversary is a time of transition. Our journal is beginning to shift from the position of a new, struggling publication to a journal that has begun to solidify a reputation within the coatings and corrosion mitigation related spheres.
Seven years ago, when we started out with this magazine, I had a dream. At that time, the per capita consumption of paint was a dismal 1.25kg in India. My perspective of a ‘Developed India’ was when the per capita consumption of paint would cross the 5kg mark. Over the years, the per capita consumption of paints has been inching towards my dream. Today, it is said to be 4kg as against the global per capita consumption of 15kg. I am sure, with all the infrastructure activity and the way our country is developing, the figure will be surpassed shortly. I am proud to be part of that industry.
For seven years, we have been committed to bring you the latest updates, be it industry news, new products and processes, technical papers, company profiles, interviews, research, events, et al… In the coming months, we hope to add new features and columns to make reading C&ACER more and more interesting and relevant to the industry.
We are also moving ahead with technology. Our website is now updated at least once a week with the latest happenings in the industry around the world. With the QR code in the magazine, you can even connect to our website from the comforts of your mobile phone.
We hope you enjoy going through the magazine, as much as we do putting it together each time.
