New Products

PV PAINT, a member of Vietnam National Industry – Energy Group (PVN), has expanded its product
range of high-performance protective coatings by introducing PERAPHENE™, including a special zinc-
rich epoxy product enhanced with TUBALL™ single wall carbon nanotubes. Designed for assets
operating in highly corrosive environments – including offshore oil and gas platforms, refineries,
petrochemical plants, storage tanks, and marine infrastructure – the coatings deliver long-term
corrosion protection and mechanical durability in compliance with independent corrosion and
adhesion testing, notes a press release from the company.
“Single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) help overcome key performance limitations of conventional
zinc-rich coatings, enabling a new generation of protective systems with the improved durability of
corrosion protection, and the ease of application,” said Mr Vu Duy Cuong, General Director of PV
PAINT. “By incorporating SWCNT, we developed coating systems that demonstrate excellent
corrosion resistance, adhesion, and crack resistance during independent testing. The coatings
successfully passed independent corrosion and adhesion tests, confirming compliance with
internationally recognized industry standards for demanding operating environments. This product
offers customers greater flexibility – for example, the ability to reduce coating thickness or zinc
content while still ensuring long-term corrosion resistance. Following successful trials with
Graphene-reinforced paint, we conducted independent tests on the application of SWCNTs in our
products. The results demonstrated that each material offers distinct advantages. This has opened a
new avenue of research aimed at diversifying the applications of SWCNTs and Graphene within the
PERAPHENE™ range.”
“By helping customers extend asset service life, reduce maintenance costs and improve the
sustainability of corrosion protection, this innovation will also reinforce Vietnam’s position as an
emerging regional leader in advanced protective coating technologies for the energy and
petrochemical industries,” said Loyes Zhi, General Manager of OCSiAl Greater China.
