Epsilon Carbon launches 5th Sustainability Report showcasing 90% reduction in Scope 2 Emissions and strong progress on circularity goals

News

Epsilon Carbon Pvt Ltd, a leading global producer of carbon black and specialty carbon products, has
released its 5 th annual Sustainability Report for FY 2024–25. The theme of the report “Carbon
Conscious Value Chain,” highlights Epsilon Carbon’s integrated approach to sustainability.
During the reporting year, Epsilon Carbon achieved a 90% reduction in Scope 2 emissions through its
17MW captive power plant, which utilizes waste heat from its carbon black operations. The
company also reported a 19% reduction in energy consumption intensity compared to its baseline
year, with 68% of its total energy needs met through waste heat recovery and avoided over 50,000
tons of CO 2 emissions. Epsilon Carbon also completed its Scope 3 GHG emissions inventory for FY24
and FY25 for a transparent and data-driven climate action.
On the release of Sustainability Report 2024-2025, Mr Vikram Handa, Managing Director of Epsilon
Carbon, said, “This year has shown us how much we can achieve when we stay focused on our
customers, our people, and our responsibility to the planet. Whether it’s reducing emissions, using
resources more responsibly, or supporting our communities, every step reflects the future we want
to create. Sustainability and innovation go hand in hand for a chemical company like ours, whether
through circular solutions like Terrablack TM or digital systems that track our emissions and
environmental performance.”
Looking ahead, Epsilon Carbon is advancing its circularity vision by building India’s first fully
integrated tyre recycling plant in Karnataka by FY27. The plant will process 30,000 metric tons of
end-of-life tyres annually for Terrablack TM products, that shows the company’s tyre circular economy
principles into action.
